Flow Action

 


(Rule-Obj-FlowAction)

Ø  Flow Action allows a user to act on (take an action) an Assignment to update the Case & is created as an instance of Rule-Obj-FlowAction

Ø  The arrows coming out of the Assignment shape are nothing but Connector Flow Actions or simply called as Flow Action also

Ø  It is of 2 types: Connector & Local Actions

Ø  Very important tabs:

·         Action tab:

à Data Transform & Activity rules are run each at both Pre & Post - processing of Flow Action

·         Validation tab:

à Validates the data during FA submission, before above Post actions performed

à Update Status upon successful validation

·         Security tab

à To restrict a flow action to appear (to hide) only to certain users, based on access roles (Privilege rule) and based on When condition as well

Ø  Some of important Differences between Connector & Local Actions

Connector Flow Action

(like Send button in Inbox)

Local Flow Action

(like Attach File button in Inbox)

¨      Allows the Case to move further in the Flow

 

¨      Doesn’t allow the Case to move further, stays there itself

 

¨      If > 5 Connectors for an assignment, Guardrail warning ‘Design Intent-Driven Processes’ occurs

¨      No limit

¨      Sorting order is determined by Likelihood

And

¨      Appearance is determined by Perform harness (as Dropdown list sequence above the separator) or by Perform_Buttons harness (as Button display sequence)

¨      Sorting order is determined by Flow-wide local actions (Flow > Design)

And

¨      Appearance is determined by Perform harness (as below the separator Dropdown)
